About

I am a half English half Kiwi hybrid. My parents met while they were backpacking around Australia. For the first couple of years, we moved around a lot. We lived in England for a bit, then we jetted off to USA, New Zealand and then we lived in Papua New Guinea for the first year of my life. I suppose it was always my destiny to travel and explore new places.

me, age 3

I grew up in a small seaside town on the South East coast of England. It is a beautiful place, white cliffs overlook the blue hues of the English Channel, while being contrasted by the lime greens of the rolling hills of the South Downs National Park. I can remember on countless occasions looking out to the horizon of the big blue,I would sit there and dream about all the beautiful creatures that lived below, and how deep the sea really goes. I would wonder if I could see France, if it was a clear enough day- I swear I did a couple of times.

France has always played a huge role in my life, my Grandma was from Cherbourg in the North. I would go to my Auntie and Uncle's house in Normandie once or twice a year, every year. It was such a beautiful place, in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by cows and farm land. We would go exploring, to old chateau's and markets on the weekend, and to local fetes in the summer. Life in the French countryside is slow, I always found time to draw, to reflect, no TV and no PC. Going to France was a taste of escapism I didn't quite understand until I grew up, and why the adults in my family would enjoy going to France so much.

I remember the day my itchy feet caught fire. I was in Geography lesson, about age 13 and we were learning about Japan and Thailand. The more I learnt, the more I became obsessed. And so, the following year I went to Thailand with my Dad and Brother, it was life changing.

Koh Samui 2010

We travelled to Phuket, Bangkok, Koh Samui, Pataya. I was in love with Thailand, the island vibes were infectious. The perfect turquoise waters, the white sand, the beautiful Thai people and the delicious food. Paradise: FOUND. We travelled to Thailand a couple of times, it was so amazing experience at the age of 16. We also travelled to America - New York and then a road trip in Florida. Trips to Australia were also on the cards, as my Dad was living in Melbourne at the time.

I had already travelled a lot further than most people in knew from my small seaside town in little old England. I knew one thing only. I would finish school, go to college, go to Uni and then I would travel.

I graduated BA (hons) Costume for Performance at London College of Fashion in 2013. In my second year, we had the opportunity to do work experience, and I was obsessed with going travelling, so I landed a placement at Opera Australia, the company that produces the productions for The Sydney Opera House.

The beginning of my third year, I was still obsessed with going travelling, so I travelled to Thailand (with my boyfriend at the time) for my 21st Birthday. We went to Koh Chang, Koh Tao and Koh Phangan. I was so obsessed with travel, I even based my FMP on my trip. The only way I could concentrate was to incorporate the two.

Koh Tao 2012

After graduating, I worked in the costume department on various productions, but all I knew deep down is that I wanted to travel. I wanted to travel to the places off the beaten path, to meet people from all walks of life with different stories to tell than my own.

So, in March 2014 I packed my bags and off I went...
